I had whipped feta at one of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Austin, and I knew I had to make it myself. I found a recipe on Pinterest, but in true Katie fashion, forgot to get the ingredients. I decided to wing it, and it ended up working out well for me. Hopefully you’ll like it! Let me know if you try it out.
What you need:
- 4 oz block of feta cheese
- 3 tablespoons of sour cream
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Green onion for garnish
- Squares of pita bread for dipping
What to do:
- In a food processor or blender, combine feta, sour cream, minced garlic, 1.5 tbsp olive oil, lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Add more sour cream if you want a smoother consistency. Place mixture in a serving bowl.
- In a small bowl, combine remaining olive oil, honey, pepper, and chili flakes. Microwave for 20 seconds. Mix. Pour over the top of feta mixture. Garnish with green onion if desired.
- Serve with warmed pita bread or chips of your choice.
- Enjoy!
