Whipped Feta with Spicy Honey

I had whipped feta at one of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Austin, and I knew I had to make it myself. I found a recipe on Pinterest, but in true Katie fashion, forgot to get the ingredients. I decided to wing it, and it ended up working out well for me. Hopefully you’ll like it! Let me know if you try it out.

What you need:

  • 4 oz block of feta cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of sour cream
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Green onion for garnish
  • Squares of pita bread for dipping

What to do:

  1. In a food processor or blender, combine feta, sour cream, minced garlic, 1.5 tbsp olive oil, lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Add more sour cream if you want a smoother consistency. Place mixture in a serving bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, combine remaining olive oil, honey, pepper, and chili flakes. Microwave for 20 seconds. Mix. Pour over the top of feta mixture. Garnish with green onion if desired.
  3. Serve with warmed pita bread or chips of your choice.
  4. Enjoy!
