Wow that’s a lot of words for a drink name! But it really does cover all the ingredients! I’m someone who loves spicy drinks, but unfortunately Steven does not feel the same way. I’ve learned to adapt cocktails so that the drink can be spicy, or easily not spicy without having to make two separate drinks. One way I like to do this is with tajín, or chili salt, on the rim. That way, I get spice every sip, while Steven can easily skip the rimmed portion of the drink and enjoy it just the same. See my Spicy Watermelon Margaritas for another alternative to spicy cocktails. This recipe makes 2 cocktails:
What You Need:
- 2 Persian Cucumbers, sliced
- 4 oz lime juice
- 4 oz lemon juice
- 4 oz Lemon Vodka (I prefer Deep Eddy’s)
- if you don’t have this, increase lemon juice by 1-2 oz.
- 1 oz agave nectar (more for rim, optional)
- Tajin or chili salt
- Club soda, or sparkling water of choice (I used Topo Chico)
What to do:
- Rim your glass with agave nectar (could also use lime juice here) and tajin (could also use salt or sugar here). Place in freezer to set while preparing your drink.
- Place cucumbers and lime juice in a glass and muddle. Pour through cocktail strainer into shaker bottle filled halfway with ice.
- Pour in lemon juice, vodka, and agave nectar. Shake well.
- Fill your rimmed glasses with ice and split mixture evenly between the two. Top with club soda.
- Enjoy!
